QUICK RUNDOWN ON DONATING TO KITG (& Dvhour):

Q. Why should we donate to KITG and who is this Dvhour fella?

A. This has been an unfortunate tradition with KITG since summer 2010. This site began as a free site but our parent company NING provides the domain and all the back end services that we so greedily use 24/7 for 365 days a year. There are over 8,500+ members here, believe me that's a tremendous amount of data and it makes sense that someone has to pay for this. According to Google Analytics on a daily basis this site on average consumes 5600+ page views from 800+ people who venture to the site and leave or just come for the videos and pictures. This is commendable for any big website and weighs heavy on NINGs servers. Its not free to host any type of website let alone a social media monster like this site which consumes a sick amount of data and puts pressure on NING servers.

Personally I (Dvhour, creator and admin since 2009) sincerely hate begging for money and getting into disputes with folks each year about this. It disrupts the harmony of the site, causes me unnecessary turmoil and takes a LOT of my time responding to distrusting folks and those who question my motives. I have a regular life with a sucky paying arts organization job (though very fulling in other ways). I have family and lifestyle issues just like the rest of you. Any monies that are extra will go towards me and my daily efforts for keeping this site running for FREE for the rest of the 8,300 folks who don't donate. All that I ask from people is a $3 donation for the entire year. Seriously this is hardly anything to complain about, its not mandatory and its cheaper than a cup of coffee. I'm asking to pay the rent for KITG so that the site can remain FREE for everyone. I come here every single day and manage this site, alone. I approve, all bits of information and meter who we let in and I remove the troublemakers and the dead weight from this site, alone. Again if you think my time and energy should be free or that I should shoulder the burden of this $893 fee alone, then that's unfortunate for all of us. I'm trying to stay upbeat and positive about all of this so please help me maintain my resolve to keep the site going. Thanks...

Q. I'm concerned about identity theft, what information is visible?
A. PayPal is owned by eBay and has been a trusted website used all over the world since 1998. PayPal the place where you will donate is safe and secure and It is not accessible to hackers for identity theft. The way to tell, is if the web address has an "s" after the "http" (https://www.paypal.com/ notice the "s" in https) then it means the website it is secure.

Q. "I'm very discrete about this fetish", what will my banking statement for this transaction look like?
A. EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this website is discrete about this fetish including me. When you donate your statement will read: "KITG Services". Its titled this way because I am Dvhour and the website name is abbreviated as KITG (Kicked in the Groin). We certainly can't have a banking receipt spell out the words Kicked in the Groin. FYI... I can not see the name of your bank, I do not see any of your banking accounts, credit cards or Paypal account information.

Q. How can I donate anonymously?

A. Purchase a pre-paid Visa/MasterCard/American Express card.

Q. When is the deadline to keep KITG online?

A. September 20, 2016. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, it takes like 3 to 8 business days for funds to be transferred and available. 

Q. Some of us have been having issues where the donation page locks in Canada and only gives Provinces, instead of switching to States for us in the USA.

A. At the very top where it asks for the donation amount, you MUST put a number in as the VERY FIRST THING YOU DO.  If you leave the donation amount blank, then when you try to select United States instead of Canada, the web page returns an error and you'll be locked in as Canada permanently. You have to close and reopen the page to try again. (This was using Chrome, but I assume it would be the same on other browsers. Feel free to copy/paste the instructions to whomever you'd like.)

Is there any snailmail address one could mail cash? It would be so much easier that buying a Visa Prpaid card.

Prepaid Visa are at the grocery store. I can understand why one would balk at it but we have been doing this for the past 6 years without incident. Its very discrete and no one has ever had an issue with privacy in the 6 years that we have done this. If you did it by mail that would require you having my home address and everyone one else, hmmmm I'm not sure I would feel very comfortable giving out my personal home address.

Issues with sending via snail mail:

1. You can't send cash in the mail
2. if you write a check it might bounce and I don't like that idea either
3. If you make a Western Union Money order it costs money to do that more than $3
4. I live in Canada the postage alone would be more than $3
5. its a menial charge to purchase a prepaid card and you can use it for other stuff as well.
6. its anonymous, its better than using your own personal bank or credit card.
7. Paypal is mega safe and has been proven over the years.

Can you please keep a running tally so we all know how much more is needed? It's kind of hard to judge how much to donate when all we know is the site needs, "More." At least it would help me. Thanks1

Hello Jason I really do appreciate the question, its been one that we broach every year. Each year my response tends to annoy many people it inflames passions and arouses suspicions.

If people saw a meter psychologically they would be like oh let me give X or Y amount. We would certainly reach our goal. Here's the dilemma. The first two years Mallory and I stopped asking... We reached our goal... We left the donation button up but not a single person donated after. Actually we leave the donation button up all year and only one or two people think to donate.

Meters work well with charities. Many of us feel that KITG is a good cause but we are not a registered charity. We are a social network that caters to a fetish, sadly we don't get the same regard.

At the end of the day we count on the membership to help pay the admins who monitor and take care of the site 365 days a year "literally". For the past 7 years the only accounting of any money that I get for this site happens during donation season. We currently have 8,500+ members but lets say realistically we have 1000 monthly active members ... At $3 that would be $3000 ... now subtract that from the $893 fee and divide by two (Mallory and Dvhour) and that's $1053 per person. Thankfully that would pay for my rent for one month. The very sad reality is that the profit margin is substantially slim. We only have about 100 people or less who donate. Some donors generously give more, but in the end Mallory left the site because in all honesty donation season and all her hard work on the site felt thankless and it burnt her out.

Each year it gets harder for me to run the site as it eats up a ton of time and really the amount that I put in doesn't equate to whats given back. So!!! Without me sounding bitter or greedy its not so much about how much you should donate to reach our $893 goal, it should really be a matter of donate what you deem appropriate. Obviously you feel the site brings value to you. Just keep in mind Dvhour works damn hard to keep this site running and safe, so my time and energy is valuable... My peace of mind and livelihood is part of that equation... We already lost one admin (Mallory), though this is not a threat... I'm human and everyone has a breaking point so please keep all this in mind when you donate. Again all I ask for is $3.
