NEWS: Man gets suspended sentence for ABH

ANGRY because he had lost a ring, 26-year-old Matthew Mellow punched Anthony Inman and then kicked him hard in the groin, prosecutor Iain Leadbetter told Truro Crown Court.

 

Mellow, of Poltair Court, St Austell pleaded guilty on the day his trial was due to begin to assaulting Mr Inman, causing him actual bodily harm, on April 13 last.

 

Mr Leadbetter said that Mr Inman had been occupying a bedroom in the home of Mellow's partner when he was asked to help look for the ring. Mellow had shut Mr Inman in his room for several minutes and then started punching and kicking him.

 

Mr Inman had to have an operation, and another might become necessary.
