Yes, I appreciate your humour. Indeed, harassment (of a carnal nature) is so prevalent and persistent in the workplace (in my country), one simply becomes accustomed to it. It is most unfortunate, you experienced the treatment you did. As it is men, speaking against such behaviours that, is the most powerful factor in arresting it.

The behaviour of your "boss' is reprehensible! However, I can VERY much relate to  your bride. I have similar fears, as to hubby's actions if, I would have shared some of the actions / comments directed my way. What astounds me now (having spent ample time in America) is why, I tolerated such things! I spent a good deal of my time early on; removing a stain from someone's tie or shirt, sewing on a popped button, and fetching coffee. Occasionally doing so, with someone's damn hand on my ass!

Peculiarly, all this stopped after, the first incident mentioned in my profile became common knowledge. So, I can appreciate the comment "Man I saw so many examples of young women being seriously harassed by men that  I wished I could turn into a women and kick them in the balls!".<guilty smile> However, this is not the way to deal with such crassness. A blow to the testes is a vicious brutal sexual assault! It can leave someone sterile and or cause serious long term health issues. Especially when, done in anger.

You are correct re; "this is a massive oversimplification of a subject that I have very little understanding of". Unfortunately, many people have the tendency to oversimplify and "to dismiss such people as subhuman monsters in my head).". Worse, craven politicians pander to these understandable feelings in society. This often keeps anything meaningful from being achieved.

Unfortunately, I have a great deal of "understanding" regarding this kind of criminal behaviour. As to the   individuals that, molest wee ones... many paedophiles were themselves abused as children. So, quite often the 'vampire' effect is in  play. That is, an innocent child is the victim of monstrous acts. Then, grows up to commit same, on other children. So, he (or she) perpetuates the cycle. BTW, this is something I have never understood, WHY do people who rail against the heinous crimes committed against children (of any age) refuse to acknowledge the fact, women are guilty of such things as well!?

For what ever it is worth; sex has very little to do with rape. Rape is a crime of rage. The goal is degradation and humiliation of the woman. It can be used as an instrument of terror to exert control over an individual or populace. Also, it has been used as an agent of genocide. In some cultures, women who are not 'pure', can not be married off. Marriage being the only 'acceptable' way to bring little people into the world.  BTW, many men that violate women, were abused by a mother or some other female authority figure in their adolescence. The rape committed out of uncontrollable sexual lust, is quite rare.
