A Geek, Nerd and Dork

Kinda wondering, does anyone actually know the difference between the three?  Even if subtle, there must be one!  :)

I'd guess that a nerd would be the book smart, likely socially awkward type.  As for the difference between the other two, I'm not so sure.  Thoughts?

Well you get people who are really into sci fi or comic books and then you get people who are really studious and concerned with academia then you get people who are just socially awkward.

I don't really like any of these terms because they're all basically insults.

If you're into sci fi or academia or if you just have difficulty socialising, I don't think you should be insulted for it. l like sci fi and stuff and I'm also pretty socially awkward but I don't really like being called a geek because it's a word made up by people who want to insult me because I don't live up to some arbitrary expectation of how they think someone should be.

If people want to call themselves geeks though then I guess it's up to them and not really any of my business.
