I actually wasn't the first one to start CBA. There were two sites before it, the first by someone called Freddy (I think) and when Freddy couldn't keep it up any more, a nice guy called Killatron took it over for a short period.
When Killatron could no longer host it is when I stepped in. I think that was around 2002 or so. At first I hosted it as a subdomain off my personal website (mistake), and later I bought the domain name it has now, and ran it on web space donated by a good friend.
Keeping the site going isn't a problem for me. It's self-sustaining financially, and my wife isn't bothered by it at all. It'll stay around as long as people have an interest in it, and it'll always be free.
