Looking for some advice here from the gents (and yes, I also posted this on other bb forums). I have an appointment to get a vasectomy next month -- this is my first encounter with a urologist. The method he is going to use involves cutting the vas and clamping off the ends with tiny metal clamps. So my questions are:

1. For those of you who have had vasectomies, is this the method they used? If so, does it affect bb? I'm scared that the little metal pieces in my scrote could poke me in a bad way when I receive a kick or knee, and it could seriously hurt or cause damage.

2. How does one initiate conversation with a urologist about bb? On the one hand, I'm sure they've seen it all, on the other hand it sounds like the type of thing that they'd be super judgmental about (I imagine most urologists would be generally anti-bb).

Any advice here would be helpful -- thanks!

Hey Jim! My hubby got the exact same procedure. Take it from me, avoid any bb for at least a month except light slaps. Otherwise the recovery will last months. Trust me, you don't want purple nuts.

I've had one, but have never heard of metal clamps being used. Mine were cauterized, so no issues with BB after the healing process.
