NICEVILLE — A 21-year-old Crestview woman repeatedly kicked a police officer in the groin during a DUI arrest at Dairy Queen on Oct. 15, a Niceville Police Department report said.
The woman was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, resisting arrest with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer Oct. 15.
Officers went to the Dairy Queen parking lot for a possibly intoxicated driver call, said a Niceville Police Department report.
The officer heard several women in a car yelling obscenities at the vehicle in front of them, the report said.
The manager of Dairy Queen told the officer the women yelled obscenities through the drive-thru window, the report said.
The officer went up to the car and asked the driver for her license. The officer noticed the woman’s eyes were glossy and her speech was slurred, the report said.
The woman consented to taking a field sobriety test and the officer determined she was over the legal limit. When the officer went to place the woman under arrest, he cuffed one hand without any problems, but when attempting to cuff the second hand, she began to pull her arm away, the report said.
When another officer moved in to help, the woman scratched their arms, drawing blood from one officer, the report said.
As the officer attempted to open the back of his patrol car to get the woman inside she raised her left foot and kicked him in the groin repeatedly, the report said.
The officers then got the woman into the backseat and took her into custody.
