A WOMAN has appeared in court accused of kicking a man three times in the groin.

Tanya Harris, aged 20, is charged with assaulting the man causing actual bodily harm in a city nightclub on August 29.

Harris, of Lincoln Avenue, Lipson, indicated 'no plea' to the charge in front of Plymouth magistrates.

Angela Furniss, prosecuting, said that the victim had to go to hospital and was left in 'extreme pain'.

Magistrates ruled that the case was so serious that it should be heard at crown court.

Harris was bailed unconditionally to appear before magistrates again on February 3.

The case may then be formally committed to the crown court.

A WOMAN who kicked a rugby player, aggravating an existing groin injury, has been bound over to keep the peace.

Tanya Harris, who had denied assault causing actual bodily harm, was formally acquitted by Judge Francis Gilbert QC after she agreed to be bound over for one year to keep the peace in the sum of £100.

Harris, aged 21 and of Lincoln Avenue, Lipson, smiled and said: "Thank you very much" as she left the dock at Plymouth Crown Court.
