Cup Check day at the Dojo

So I get requests, this was one of them I was asked about. And yes, I do special, personalized stories sometimes. I'm setting up a site you guys will have to check out after it launches.

So some of you know I used to do TKD (Tae Kwon Do, also Olympic Style for those that know the difference) in my younger years. I still practice from time to time.

Well one of the dojo rules was that guys HAD to wear cups on sparring days. Other days/classes it was optional. So on sparring days the guys were asked if they were wearing a cup. Apparently some guys don't like to wear them or feel embarrassed. What's up with that? Its I mean like what's the big deal, guys have balls and should wear a cup. You can I would wear one if I had incredibly sensitive nuts between my legs.

So to prove it, one girl would get to 'cup check' all the guys. They'd stand in a line and a girl would go down the line and test each guy. No, not by hand, that would be weird, she could do it however she wanted. Some girls swung a kicking pad up between each guys legs, most would use their foot. It was hilarious when a guy thought he was touch and ends up doubling over on the floor.

So when I was finally picked I was so excited, every guy stood in a line, shoulder to shoulder with legs spread slightly and hands behind their back (and eyes closed so they didn't flinch).

So I started at the right most guy and let a kick fly. He still jumped a little and grunted (it was a funny sound lol), I thought maybe it startled him. And let me back up for a second, cups weren't really a topic of discussion. Apparently it still hurts a guy when he's wearing a cup and I didn't know that. I guess all the movies convinced me that a cup like 100% protects a nutsack.

So by about the middle of the line I found my first liar. His Gi pants and underwear offered no protection. When I didn't feel the hard, rounded cup I was expecting I instantly thought 'Oh shit'. In slow motion I could feel both of his nuts compress against my foot. So looking back I was definitely not kicking full force. He instantly dropped to his knees with one hand on his balls. The entire dojo erupted in laughter and pointed, I felt horrible but knew it was all his fault for not protecting his sack. He recovered quickly and stood back up, but of course was dismissed for not wearing a cup.

And I continued shortly after. So I moved on to the next guy, reared back and let my foot fly. My foot felt the cup, my eyes saw his mouth open in a silent scream and he lifted off the ground a few inches before collapsing into the matt. I was in shock, like WTF that shouldn't have happened! My foot was aching a bit from the impact of hard plastic. He didn't get up. Everyone else froze and looked at me. This was the moment I learned that cups don't stop all the blunt force from impacting a pair of testicles as several guys told me. I didn't know what to do, I squatted next to him and thought maybe rubbing his back would help, it didn't.

I felt lucky that I didn't get in trouble, it became a learning experience for apparently half the girls. But I did earn the task of walking next door to a restaurant and getting ice for his nuts.

It might be coincidence but this may have been around the time I realized the power we had over boys and started getting aroused from it. As I watched him squirm on the floor holding his nuts and me standing over him without the same weakness. I'd never know the pain, protected naturally.

Don't get me wrong, it still hurts girls, I've got a couple of stories about that. ;)

Comment by Andy Lee on May 21, 2023 at 4:19am: I like the story, and yeah, the cup only does so much, sometimes the difference between "Ooh that stung" to collapsing on the floor, but it looks like in your case the cup didn't even do that, lol.

I've also heard that a cup offers no protection when kicking from behind, so I'd imagine some back heel kicks might actually be more effective.

I'd love to hear more stories, including stories of you receiving some unfortunate shots (now that you mentioned it at the end, haha).
