Μost women have thought about it at some point on a bus
Hi April. You are correct. The amount of force also has a big impact (pun intended) on the level of damage.
Interesting, I'll take your experience on it, but the striking area explanation I'm doing a double take on: most of what i have been hit by over the years from knees and palms to platforms and shins in thigh highs had a far, far larger striking area than a heel
So I gather it's the angle that's the problem since the balls can get trapped against the pelvic bones etc? Kicking outward in the direction of the rear?
My classmate wasn't back-kicking at that angle, more the workout "kicking your own ass" style where the heel is already swinging back toward them and away from the vertical axis of your body if/when it manages to make contact. Anyway, I avoid play where someone could easily trap my balls between my pelvis and the full momentum of their body
Thank you, for your unqualified support Karate_Aaron. You are correct in your commentary. I should only add that, the force of the blow, is a factor too. That is, how much kinetic energy (or power) a girl puts into delivering a kick to the testes. I do not know that, the size of a male's testicles, makes a significant difference. Especially, to the level of pain a man will experience when, having his 'berries' struck. As to catastrophic damage, this depends (as you correctly mentioned) on whether, "one or both testicles gets completely trapped and crushed by the heel". "And, by the way, I am not just discussing this as a matter of theory. I happen to know this from experience." Ouch! I am sorry, to learn this! Indeed, I felt a tad queasy in your behalf.
Hello Andy Lee,
I can not attest to whether, "kicking someone from behind hurts more" or not. As I do not possess external gonads. However, I suspect this is so. As there seems to be a greater likelihood, for more severe injury. Primarily, because of the positioning. Karate_Aaron is correct, in his analysis and confirmation of my statements. The testicles are protected (chiefly) by their placement and ability to move.
April is right. The larger the striking surface, the greater the risk of serious damage. It is really a function of the relative size/strength of the striking surface to the target. The underside/bottom of a girl's heel is a pretty large striking surface. And, if the girl has a particularly large heel and/or the guy has particularly small testicles, then that increases the odds that one or both testicles gets completely trapped and crushed by the heel (versus squirming out of the way as the kick lands). Also, the underside/bottom of the heel is a very strong surface (in addition to being large). There is a lot of padding there, so one can kick really hard using that striking surface without hurting oneself -- as opposed to the top of the foot, which has a lot of small bones and can be more easily hurt. So, to answer your question, Lexeme, the back kick is a more dangerous kick than many other kinds of kicks. And, by the way, I am not just discussing this as a matter of theory. I happen to know this from experience.
Interesting discussion, I never considered this.
Not sure if true, but I have heard that kicking someone from behind hurts more, not just because it might be a surprise attack, but the way the foot connects to the balls means it causes more of a 'crushing' effect?
The answer to your query (assuming it is not rhetorical in nature) is, yes. Since, the larger the contact area of an object striking the testes, the greater the danger of serious / catastrophic damage. I am gratified to learn, your would-be assailant was off target. Also, I should strongly recommend against having "a friend test this theory with me someday, for science". You might finish up, strongly regretting it.
Is a back kick really more dangerous? I'm curious because the only one time one was aimed at me was in middle school in gym class and she missed by a few inches.
I'm going to have to ask (very sweetly) a friend to test this theory with me someday, for science ;)
Also, ocigart really has mad skills.
The details are really professional. You can see how the persons in the background are detailled only very roughly whereas the main characters are depicted in all detail. He is literally lifted off the ground, wich means that the whole weight of his body probably rests on one of his testes, which in turn rests on the heel of her shoe. Very unlikely that his testicle has survived this. And her upper thighs are very muscular which might hint that she might be a professional runner or soccer player which adds credibility to her ability to lift him off the ground. Very nice and consistent drawing.
