Was anyone here at the other end of an angry woman's angry tip of the heeel?

"So anytime people are actually going to be doing contact sparring training, we require that the males and females wear a cup before starting," same here. However, this prerequisite is only enforced for those with XY chromosomes. However, many of the ladies will wear a groin guard. Particularly, those who have suffered a blow 'down stairs'.
"Looking like you have a big package isn't as useful as making sure that it is as protected as possible." Indeed. Besides, in all of my years of practising and teaching Kajukenbo / Krav maga, I have never known a woman to see someone looking as if, he had "a big package" and then, take up with him. Also, observing someone in the fetal position, holding said apparently "big package", does not inspire most women to immediate amorousness.
"I imagine that if he hadn't, that surgery would be to remove a pair of irreparably damaged testes." Quite possibly so. A paramedic colleague related a similar incident in which, the lad was less fortunate. He was injured by an automatic pitching machine that, had malfunctioned. Although, there was suspicion the machine had been tampered with. I do not know if, this was ever proved. However, my friend did relate that, the guy was not wearing an athletic cup. She informed me that, the lad finished up losing one testis. My urologist sister confirmed the remaining testicle, was reduced to function at round three percent. Also, he suffered serious injury to the urethra that, she was able to repair.
As a consequence of all this, I make certain hubby is well protected! He is a footballer. Amateur, to be sure. He and mates are part of a summer league.
Groin strikes are a part of kick heavy martial arts like taekwondo, so anytime people are actually going to be doing contact sparring training, we require that the males and females wear a cup before starting, but I've been to places where only the males were obligated to wear one, while it was optional for females. With fast kicks coming often, one is bound to sink into the delicates, and not always thst softly either.
We have had those sorts of guys too. An even somewhat decent hit to one that's too large rattles the nuts enough that they get a properly fitting one as soon as possible. Looking like you have a big package isn't as useful as making sure that it is as protected as possible.
At least he had a cup on for that though. I imagine that if he hadn't, that surgery would be to remove a pair of irreparably damaged testes.
Yes, this has been my experience. Both, as an instructress and a paramedic. This is one of the reasons in our dojo (even though they are technically permitted in Kajukenbo and Krav maga), we do not allow groin strikes. Save, for the relatively few realistic street attack simulations and in tourneys. Even then, anything other than, light contact is strongly discouraged. Then again, I have noticed 'lite' tends to be a relative term. Especially, to the fellow on the receiving end!
We have had a slight 'issue' with "Loose fitting cups". Seems, some lads will purposefully wear one a size too large. I suspect, this has to do with vanity. However, seems one in hit in that area, and a correction tends to be made straightaway!
"From the side or underneath, and the cup is liable to shift more easily at high speed into the male genitals, and potentially on top of them." Yes, I had noticed this in my paramedic work. Particularly, in baseball. I recollect responding to a call for an injured catcher. Seems, the batter hit the ball traveling at 160kph (100mph?) into the ground and it then, ricocheted up into the crotch of the catcher! Even with the cup, he suffered grievous injury. Ultimately, surgery was required to repair multiple testicular fractures.
Yeah, it only seems to keep things from hitting the testicles directly, but inertia and momentum are still a thing so the impact can still make the cup itself slam into the parts they are supposed to protect. The stronger the impact, the more that gets transferred through, and they do not protect against all impacts equally. Straight on, they do the best. From the side or underneath, and the cup is liable to shift more easily at high speed into the male genitals, and potentially on top of them. Loose fitting cups only increase this possibility.
Indeed, it is not. A protective 'cup' simply prevents an object from making actual contact with the male genitals. Seems, it does very little to eliminate (or even reduce) blunt force testicular trauma. Especially, if an object is traveling at high velocity when, it collides with a groin protector. On occasion, these 'protectors' can actually damage 'what', they are so to protect. Particularly, if this is the intent of the individual controlling the object. Also, if someone is wearing the an ill fitting 'cup'.
As someone who is experienced with busting guys who have a "ball protector" on, I'll be the first to say that the protection they provide is not absolute.
Me next!
Love this kick!
I like that your classes are light contact only. Yes I remember back in the day karate and cup protectors and feeling like THAT area will be targeted
Somehow, I doubt you would find the experience all that enjoyable. I base this opinion on the reactions of those lads who, have been struck in the groin. Yes, they were wearing "a face and ball protector". In my classes, students are not supposed to make actual contact. Save, for the few realistic street attack simulations. In these training scenarios, 'light' contact is permitted. Basically, brushing the target area. However, to get the epinephrine going (that is, to create the 'fight or flight' instinct), we will sometimes attack whilst, a student is distracted. It comes as a surprise. In their immediate fear, some students (especially the girls) will forget the lite contact rule.
