The Birthday Present

I've met some really friendly and open people while chatting on this site. Recently, I had a great chat with someone that inspired me to write this quick story. Please forgive any typos or grammatical errors, I didn't spend a lot of time editing it...

The Birthday Present

Melissa closed out the text message conversation on her phone and smiled to herself. She’d just finished planning an amazing birthday present for her best friend Katie. Melissa was a 29 year old woman with dark hair and blue eyes. She’d been on the soccer team in college and had kept up her athleticism since then by going to yoga and spin classes several times a week. It was at a yoga class a few years ago where she’d met Katie. Katie was younger, only about to turn 25, but they’d been great friends from the start. Melissa had always been a bit reserved, focusing on her career, hobbies and her relationship. Katie was more fun, more adventurous and her outgoing nature was a great balance for Melissa. Melissa helped Katie stay focused, and Katie helped push Melissa to try new things.

One of the newer things that Katie had convinced Melissa to try was ballbusting.
