Hey everyone! (It's Wolf)
First of all, thanks for the invite Smoo. Not sure what to write so I'll keep it simple. This is a picture of the first frame in an animation I'm attempting (still haven't downloaded Flash yet.) It's just going to be a quick clip, with just a simple kick. It will start with me bracing myself & Fox having a nervous anxiety about her. I'm thinking to have one soft kick, a medium kick, then a really hard kick (quickly followed by Fox's "classic" ball grab as she pulls me in close for a romantic kiss.) End. It's nothing sensational, but it's been about 10 years since I animated (& I've NEVER used Flash,) so I wanted something simple just for the sake of practice.
If anyone is curious, I use a MacBook laptop with a drawing tablet. The tablet is AMAZING! (I really can't believe it.) It fits perfectly on top of the keyboard & was really cheap. It has great sensitivity & is SO close to normal drawing. No more paper for me - ever. It's truly a blessing because it is impossible to use/store paper out here in the wild (too much humidity.) Plus, our house is only 6x12 so it's nice to not need a huge light table, animation wheel, and -oh- no more sharpening pencils! Now our entire studio production fits on a little shelf (& is portable if I want to work outside.) I'm absolutely loving photoshop too. It's so much easier to have different levels. I can do a really messy sketch & then turn the opacity way down. Then I can do the clean drawing with the faded sketch behind it (no light table needed!) I love adding shadows/highlights on different levels too. I can even make each character, props, etc all on different levels -so I can always go back & change the composition. Every artist should have one of these tablets -I'm so shocked at how great it works.
Anyway, it is our goal to have a website open very soon. Right now we do odd jobs for low pay (not much work out here in the middle of nowhere.) It would be so nice to just be able to work from home & to finally USE our talents. It won't be a hard goal, since we happily live of way less than the poverty line. We may have to branch out into different places, but for now, we're very happy to be exclusively shown on KITG. Such a cozy & cheerful atmosphere & we've really met a lot of great people here. We're still experimenting with photoshop, still exploring this site, & we'll probably stick to the pictures for a bit. But hopefully soon we'll be showcasing animations (& maybe some REAL pics/vids.) Thanks to everyone for such a warm welcome & all the support!!!
