A Cozy & Cheerful Ballbusting & Cbusting Social Network
Around 3:15 AM, this morning I woke up to a screeching crash right in front of my apartment. Two cars collided head on, in a 31 MPH Zone (though I'm betting they were going faster). The front end of one car was completely gone the other car had flipped over the front end partly gone and the front right tire completely ripped off the axis. On the overturned car, one person escaped through the window another escaped through the sun roof. Moments before the authorities arrived i heard the friends yelling to the other friend "wake up!!! wake up!!!" and gathering bystanders saying to them "don't move or touch him let him be". When the paramedics came to open the doors I saw several cans fall to the ground presumably bear cans, not saying that alcohol was the cause, it seems like it could have played a role but I really don't know - BUT - I do think that part of the issue was the fucking building construction on the road... there is not sufficient signage letting people know which lane is which so being that it was so dark and late at night the people probably genuinely didn't know they were in the wrong lane. On top of that there is a winding corner and a blind spot so technically that could have happened to anyone. I saw 3 people leave out on stretchers - sadly, it looks like one of the people, possibly the driver didn't make it, they carried a blood stained body bag away. It was somewhat of a shock to my system witnessing all this.
Its definitely a hell of an unnerving thing to be woken out of a slumber and witness such a horrific scene. Several hours later I finally went back to sleep, when I woke up around 10ish and looked out on the street I still could see the saw dust sprinklings the Firemen put down where the oil/gas spilt. This site is not just about BB and CB its about people and community so I thought I'd make the following statement below and hopefully it resonates with some of you and leaves a thoughtful impact:
I am positing this to remind everyone about the fragility of life and how quickly life can change in a split second. To my KITG family I appreciate you all... please be smart and safe and take care of yourselves in general... Let today be a day you go hug a loved one and let those closest to you know that you love or care for them.

I just came back from a family cookout and now I'm very happy that I did
hugg everyone before leaving...you're right, everything can change in an
instant so appreciate the ones you care about while we're all still here--
and be a hugg-monster!! I'm glad you wrote this DV because we are so
much more than a bb site. Even though it is tragic, your message is a
very important reminder--and your best post ever...thanks for sharing :)
