KITG IM/Chat App Issues... Who's having them?

FEBRUARY 9, 2012 UPDATE: There have been major glitches in the chat app. Neither myself nor Mallory created them; our parent company NING is the culprit. This IS NOT about placing blame OR pointing fingers, instead of complaining lets compile a list of issues and workarounds so that we can take this list to them and hopefully they can fix it. Sorry for the inconvenience and if you wish to assist us please submit your issues below. Thanks Guys.

Yes, i found that when i try to chat in one window and surf the site in another window the IMs either lag or don't update in the chat window at all. This can be a really big pain in the ass when you have 3, 4 or more chats going at one time. With the old chatroom, you were able to do this. It was suggested that maybe use two browsers like Apple Safari or Firefox, but again, i was told there were connection errors when trying this also.

A lot of problems are happening tonight.

1) there is a huge lag from when i type and enter my IM and when it finally gets posted.

2) my chats disappear like they never existed.

this is very frustrating, when ever I type a message into the chatroom, i'll either see what i posted, not see what I posted or it will come up about 3 to 10 seconds after i hit enter, it's pretty much 33/33/33 on the outcome. This is happening in three different brousers. Safari, Firefox and Explorer.

honestly, i figure there would be more people reporting on here. Personally, I hate the fact that I can't surf the site and chat at the same time. It's seems surfing blocks a lot of the IMs to the chat window.

First thing I need to put out there, I know it's not the fault of anyone here on this site, they're not responsible for this failure of design.

I am so disappointed that only 4 people have something to say about the issues with this stupid new chatroom? To me that complacency is almost as pathetic as the state of the chatroom itself. I know many of you are having similar issues, you need to step up and complain so things can get corrected. 

Today, I tried using the pop up window so I could look at other parts of the site while chatting to the members online. This is something I was able to do with the older design. The problems i was running into during this visit was that the IMs i was receiving were not updating in the pop up window. That makes the popup window useless, if it can't function like it's supposed to function, then get rid of it.

I don't care if I hurt anyones feelings, but this new chatroom SUCKS.

i hate the new chatroom too! i also liked using the popup window to look at other things when i chatted, but now it lags and sometimes i see that someone said something to me but it just shows up blank. worst of all, the messages keep popping up at the bottom of the screen instead of in the popup window, which is really annoying when it is a bunch of guys i don't know all say "hi, i like ur name" !!! i almost stopped coming on here because of it.

Major lag times, sometimes not even posting what I wrote at all. Other times it would post but much later. It also would sometimes overtype when i made corrections and not show the new text, but when i hit enter the other people could see the corrections.

Today while using the pop out chat window, my chat went completely blank and i was locked out from using it. This happened while using Apple Safari, i will also try this with Firefox, Chrome and Explorer to see if issues are the same.

I haven't been to the Chat in a while but it seems people are pretty pissed. Can't you just roll back the old Chat till NING release the working version ? I'd have to asume this one is a Beta.

chat is much less buggy in google chrome vs ie9.  Pet peeves- especially in IE, when the chat screen refreshes, it resets your cursor to another place when you are typing, and often the chat screen scrolls itself all they back to the first page of chat.  Some lag issues, some sent chat that mysteriously died on its way to the chat board...

Sometimes the sentences, that i typed just disappear in the realms of the bits and bytes... And it the chat is just messed up when i'm browsing the site...

OK, now I've tried using Firefox and Ive tried IM'ing the main chat room, my IM's never made it to the room. Also I'm not receiving IM's sent to me into the pop up window.
