A Cozy & Cheerful Ballbusting & Cbusting Social Network
EVERYONE WANTS TO BE ANONYMOUS
Look, no person on this site wants to remain more anonymous and discrete than me, dvhour the creator and Co-Admin of this website. So naturally I understand the predicament people are in when they say… YES i love the Kicked in the Groin site and I support it… BUT… I am uncomfortable signing up for a PayPal Account - OR - I do not wish to give my credit card details. OK!!! Fair enough!!!
PREPAID CARD & GIFT CARD (VISA & MASTERCARD)
But now there is no excuse, there is an alternative. If you DO NOT wish to use your personal bank or credit card, you can use a Prepaid-Card or a Gift-Card that is not attached to your credit or banking statements or anything that will affect your credit score. These cards will have the Visa or Mastercard logo on them and give you the right to purchase whatever you wish with complete anonymity and they will act just like VISA or Mastercard. You can buy a one shot deal with a set sum of $10, 20, 25, $50, $100 or you can purchase a reloadable prepay card.
WHERE TO BUY OFFLINE
These cards can be purchased at grocery stores, the mall, most banks have them, which is a better place to buy them because the purchasing fee is usually lower and sometimes even waived if you are an account holder. I have provided a list below, please keep in mind I just learned about these and they are merely an alternative if you do not wish to use your own credit line, my advise is to do your research before you buy and ask the sales clerk lots of questions.

DV, I think you got a little confused there with the Math :)
I believe PayPal is charging their 0.3 $ fee and then their 2.9 %. If this is true, then this means that if I put in 1 $, they first cut their 0.3 $ and then cut their 2.9 % off the remaining 0.7 $ which would bring your 1 $ to about 0.68 $.
The way to calculate it is (X-0.3)*(1-0.029) or (X-0.3)*0.971 where X is the amount loaded to the paypal account.
In the above example X would be 1, so (1-0.3)*0.971 = 0.7*0.971 = 0.6797.
Basically due to that 0.3 minimum fee if people are going to donate just 1 $ I'm afraid we're going to be donating one third of that sum to Ebay, so may I suggest that if people are going to donate, they might as well donate a little more, say 5, 10 or even 15 $ ? If that means less people are going to be donating that's fine. we're going to be much better off with less people donating more than with more people donating less.
For a 5 $ donation, Ebay's cut will be about 0.44 $ while this site's cut will be about 4.56 $. This is as opposed to 5 members each donating just 1 $ which will leave you with just under 3.4 $ while Ebay will cash in about 1.6 $.
For a 10 $ ,Ebay's cut will be 0.58 $ and this site's cut will be 9.42 $ as opposed to 10 members each donating 1 $ which will leave you with only 6.8 $ and Ebay will get about 3.2 $
Finaly, for a 15 $ donation ,Ebay's cut will be 0.73 $, this site's cut will be 14.27 $ as opposed to 10 members each donating 1 $ which will leave you with only 10.2 $ and Ebay will get about 4.8 $
Basically to reach the 200 $ mark, we can do with just 14 people each donating 15 $ or 22 people each donating 10 $ or 44 people each donation just 5 $. Where as if each member is going to donate just 1 $ we're going to need about 300 of those donations and we'll be splitting that amount with Ebay about 2:1.
Briana,
I'm not an expert on that but I believe you'd have to be transferring the money from your paypal account to be able to send money fee free. If you're using a credit card to transfer money to someone's else paypal account, they must be charging something to process that.
Briana,
I'm not sure we're even talking about the same thing here. I'm talking about the fee the recipient of the funds is paying, not the sender. I'm not too familiar with PayPal's services but I didn't think that sending the money cost you anything to begin with.
I commissioned a figure for Pat and sent money per an invoice the person sent me - we calculated what the fee was going to be and made the invoice high enough so that I 'paid' the fee instead of the other person losing from the amount they were supposed to receive. This was done via a purchase invoice so that we had record of the transaction and what it was for (as it was a rather large sum of money). I believe, when it is being used as a business transaction, they require this fee.
However, I have both sent and received money via the personal gift function numerous times without either person having to pay any kind of fee. You just have to know the other person's paypal email address. It may only be for verified accounts as well, I'm not entirely sure. I just know that I've done it many times :P
Edit to add: I also use paypal to receive money from a virtual currency that I earn and turn into cash. When I use the mass pay function on the site that converts the currency, I do pay a fee to paypal. Again, I believe this is because it is a business transaction.
Briana,
When you sent the money to the to other person, how did that money get into your paypal account to begin with ? If it was from your bank account I'd imagine that your bank charged you a fee for that transaction. I know my bank would but then again the banking system in my country is so corrupted you never know, maybe you have different regulations over there and it's possible to load money from your bank account to a PayPal account fee free.
If you can do that and are willing to use your PayPal to donate to this site, that's fantastic, however, this thread in particular is about the prepaid option and with that there's a fee for sure (at the recipient side). Of course if you can transfer funds from your bank account to your paypal accoutn fee free and then send it as fee free gift, that's valuable information. Definitely worth checking.
Goalie,
Yes - paypal's biggest selling point is that it keeps your personal information hidden such as credit cards and bank accounts, etc.
I understand this is about the pre-paid option, but anyone with a verified account has access to do what I'm talking about, and you can decide what info you are disclosing :) As far as I know, can be as little as your paypal email address.
My account is verified, I use it a decent amount for ebay purchases etc. I have free transfers in and out of my bank account. I also have it set up so if I pay for something and don't have a balance in my paypal, it pulls directly from my bank account. The person gets paid right away, and it just eventually comes out of my bank account like if I had used my credit/debit card for a credit purchase.
I'm sure this is all pending having the right kind of account with the right kind of access, but anyone with a verified, frequently used paypal account that is attached to their bank/card of some sort I would think SHOULD have this same access.
Hope that helps at least someone :)
Briana,
If you use your PayPal account to transfer funds to this site then it's registered somewhere in their database and they know who you are since you gave them your details when you created your account. This is what some people may not be comfortable with. Of course, if you ever used Google and clicked a link to this site then Google knows that you surfed here and your ISP knows that you surf here all the time anyway, so perhaps there's no point in trying to remain (completely) anonymous to begin with, however, this thread is about the pre paid anonymous card, which you can purchase without disclosing any personal data to anyone, not to the recipient of the funds and not to the issuer of the credit card.
Great news about PayPal to PayPal transactions though. Sounds like it's different than using a credit card since in that case the recipient of the funds would have to pay a fee. My bank would charge a fee for the bank transfer to the PayPal account for sure but like I said, our banking system is corrupted :(
