Facts about Donating to KITG

Q. What am I Donating this money to?
A. We are asking everyone to contribute $3 to the Kicked in the Groin website so that we are able to keep the site operational. $3 for the year comes out to .008 cents a day
Q. Where is the money going?
A. The money is going into a PayPal account to not only keep the site operational but for other future additional features, like bandwidth, storage, videos and photos. and other necessary features for the website.
Q. What is KITG?
A. Kicked in the Groin.
Q. Who is this Dvhour and Mallory why should i trust them?
A. Dvhour is the creator and admin of this website. He has been a contributing member of the BB community since 1999. He and Mallory have made a concerted effort to make this the most socially respectable, female/male/gay/straight friendly and culturally diverse BB & CB social network on the internet.
Q. I'm concerned about identity theft, what information is visible?
A. PayPal is owned by eBay and has been a trusted website used all over the world since 1998. PayPal the place where you will donate is safe and secure and It is not accessible to hackers for identity theft. The way to tell, is if the web address has an "s" after the "http" (https://www.paypal.com/ notice the "s" in https) then it means the website it is secure.
Q. I'm very discrete about this fetish, what will my banking statement for this transaction look like?
A. EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this website is discrete about this fetish including me. When you donate your statement will read: "DVhour for KITG". Its titled this way because I am Dvhour and the website name is abbreviated as KITG (Kicked in the Groin). We certainly can't have a banking receipt spell out the words Kicked in the Groin. FYI... I can not see the name of your bank, I do not see any of your banking accounts, credit cards or Paypal account information.
Q. What if we reach $488.34 and there is excess money, where does that money go?
A. Again the money will be part of a pool to not only keep the site operational but for other future additional features, like bandwidth, storage, videos and photos. and other necessary features for the website. Any extra money left over will be used at the admin discretion.
Q. When is the deadline?
A. For now I'm setting the deadline for June 30, 2012. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND, it takes like 3 to 8 business days for funds to be transferred and available. The date when we MUST PAY is July 20, 2012. I am trying to be careful not to push it to the last minute with final payments, so lets be conscious and try to observe June as a cut off date.
Q. Why can't we just build another website or join another social network?
A. KITG is not a website its a social network that we have been building up since October 13, 2009. Starting over means we loose the domain name, thousands of photos and videos, and thousands of members, plus the chat room and all our excellent forum discussions. This is a heavy price to pay.
Q. What is Ning and why is it different than using a website?
A. Ning is a platform that allows content creators (like me) to produce their own social network. In other words think of KITG as the Facebook of BB and CB. Kicked in the Groin is a social network featured on the Ning Network.

While an 's' after the http does mean the connection between your browser and the server is secured, most identity thefts over the internet are the result of phishing, which happens when you click on a link which you believe directs to
www.paypal.com/averylongstringwithallkindofcharactersincluding&...
but instead it takes you to something like:
www.paypai.com/averylongstringwithallkindofcharactersincluding&...
And the web site looks exactly the same, which means 99 % of you are not going to notice, so if you want to make sure you're withing the other 1 % observe carefully and make sure that the address indeed starts with www.paypal.com.

Permalink Reply by Goalie on May 26, 2011 at 4:06pm Oh, I just wanted to point out that using SSL only guarantees a secured channel but you still have to make sure that the site you are requesting is in fact that yourself.
I did notice that SSL verification is now using a click-able icon in the green area which is really hard to miss along with a more readable certification for the end user, so that should make it a lot harder for successful phishing nowadays. With a service so big and important I can't imagine anyone successfully registering a domain similar to the real paypal, uploading a design exactly like the real paypal and receiving a certification for it anyway, so I wouldn't worry about it, though your 'prepaid Master Card' idea sounds interesting. I imagine they require less personal info.
Permalink Reply by Goalie on August 1, 2011 at 3:19pm If you're worried about paypal, you can always purchase a prepaid Master Card with no link to your personal assets. That's how i plan on donating this year.
I really hope a prepaid master card works for me, because that sounds like a good idea for donating this site :-)
Permalink Reply by Persis on June 29, 2012 at 11:20am Just wondering what's going on for 2012's fund drive ?
Permalink Reply by Michael on August 4, 2012 at 3:52am Maybe you should change the text a little bit? 3 $ a year are 0.82 Cents per day or 0.0082 Dollars per day.
As may question from last year (or even the year before that?) in the mail wasn't answered I want to ask here again:
Is there any possibility to give the chance to directly donate to the bank account via normal money transfer from my bank account?
I do not have credit cards or paypal and I am not planing to get any of it in the next few years. That's why I want to donate a little bit but can't!
