Hi guys, Just a few thoughts I'd like to share on our glorious kink.

I guess something I've always been curious about is the popularity of ballbusting. I've experience with what I like to think are most of the major ballbusting sites on the net including the clips stores and I've heard of fetish stars mention the popularity of the "genre". I've also noticed on the femaledom forums it's the most active section in a site that includes trampling, foot fetish and facesitting boards. These are all what I'd consider more mainstream fetishes in that the so called "vanilla" community would have heard of these, however it's the ballbusing section that always has the highest number of viewers and contributors.. Finally a quick search of ballbusting on the most mainstream of video sites, youtube, retrieves a cornucopia of results varying from clipstore previews to amateur clips as well as hundreds of movie scenes. There also seem to be very high numbers of views for videos on the likes of ballbusting tube, and other streaming porn sites as well as views for ballbusting forum topics in the thousands. Is there anyone here could offer any insight into this - is it that I'm biased in that this is the only fetish I search for?

With regards to the uniqueness of ballbusting in the wider fetish world, it seems to me that there is much more of a community involved with it. Obviously there is a huge general BDSM community online and irl, but that is very much a blanket term which includes all aspects of sadomassochism. Again, I have little insight into other fetishes, but I can't imagine the same level of community for say, facesitting or spanking. I'd also like to point out here that, as anyone else living in the UK can testify to, these fetishes were named specifically as being banned in the UK porn industry, whereas ballbusting was only banned under a more general title of "physical or verbal abuse". Obviously it would stand to reason to suggest that this amazing site is unique in its community but even since the days of kramtoad there seems to have always been some level of community so long as the internet has been as ingrained into our society as it is today. My last thought with regards to BDSM is that as specific as ballbusting is within that field, there are even more niche branches within it, ranging from mistress/sub style ballbusting to the much more friendly almost romantic kind of ballbusting between two people who care about each other just having a lot of fun and of course my personal favourite, pussy envy ballbusting!

Finally I guess I'd just like to express a bit of gratitude that this site exists. Epic kudos for everyone on here, especially the admins and the handful of people I'd regularly liaise with on the chat room, for making me feel a little less weird for liking something so unconventional and very specific.

Cheers, Glenn

P.S also thanks to anyone who read my ramblings, just a few things I wanted to get out of my head, I'm looking forward to any and all opinions anyone has on the matter =)

Hey Jack, Thanks for the reply! Yeah things are a bit conservative here for people to really be open about anything sexual like that, and I can definitely see how someone would be less embarrassed to talk about something more mainstream like spanking or even a foot fetish. I wonder if it's just that it's something people would have even heard about?

Ballbusting is one of the few "social" fetishes, as opposed to the majority of fetishes that are somewhat anti-social.  It's also something that's been in the mainstream for many many years, not as a fetish but as female dominance, and as male rejection.  As women's social power has grown, so has the acceptance of ballbusting as part of life, even if not as a fetish.  It happens in movies, it happens on the street, unlike being tied up and tortured, or peed on, or whatever, which happens only in private, and as fetishes they are always consensual.  Ballbusting as a fantasy is often non-consensual, probably because in reality it tends to happen that way (but as a serious act of course).  There's another unique aspect; the line between fantasy and reality can be blurred without having to stretch too far into the imagination.  It's also the only fetish I know of that isn't immediately construed as a fetish, so its the only one that can pass for normal.  I've never heard a group of college students having a group discussion about electrotorture.  Any guy who talks about women's feet, though, is assumed to be a foot fetishist.  The aura of normalcy is probably what allows ballbusting a social community.  That, and the general relaxed nature of it.  As Petron said, its an erotic game, and games are supposed to be fun.  Fun!  Getting tied up or handcuffed may be fun for the participants, but from the outside it can seem kind of depressing. Ballbusting is cute.  Imagine that; a cute fetish.

There is one other notable aspect of ballbusting that I think is unique, and that's the gender role ambivalence and unclear nature of who's the dominant party and who's the submissive party.  On the surface it seems pretty clear who's doing the dominating and who's being dominated, but the way it often plays out is that many guys behave like drug addicts in pursuit of their high, as if the world revolves around his nuts and women are the only source of relief.  What's unique is that unlike with other fetishes, it's assumed that most women are "into" ballbusting to some degree or another, so the pretense of a social barrier taboo is not as strong.  Via Internet, it can take on romantic proportions of pursuit, validation, and rejection, which is also unique in the fetish world, even if that sort of thing happens with other fetishes.  Ballbusting is that rare fetish that doesn't require any attachment to the other person, so this contributes to the accidental depersonalization.  Also, its one of the few fetishes where the woman takes on a traditionally masculine role, as judge, jury, and executioner.  This gives those guys a comfort level they have no right to assume, which doesn't exist with other fetishes.   I point all this out not to start controversy, but because its one of the most important aspects of ballbusting that makes it unique, and as such it can't be ignored or glossed over.

Overall, ballbusting is quite a unique fetish.   It has transcended kink, which is quite an accomplishment.  Its probably going to continue to increase in popularity and mainstream acceptance, due to its fun, innocent nature and relative ease of initiation, and because its a way to flirt.  How many fetishes can realistically count as flirting?  It truly is a glorious kink, and versatile as well.  That's another thing; its not one-dimensional.
